China has conducted live-fire military drills near Taiwan, just a week after a large-scale exercise aimed at pressuring the self-governed island. The drills took place off the coast of Fujian province, close to Taiwan, and are seen as a response to Taiwan's rejection of Beijing's sovereignty claims. Taiwan's government has downplayed the threat, but the frequency and intensity of China's military activities around the island have increased in recent years. These actions are part of China's broader strategy to assert control over Taiwan, which it views as a breakaway province.

This is exactly why big governments and centralized control are such a threat to individual freedom. China just can't stand the idea of Taiwan governing itself and making its own choices. It’s a perfect example of why we should be cautious of any government, including our own, getting too powerful and trying to control everything.
China's constant saber-rattling only strengthens our resolve—Taiwan's future will be decided by its own people, not by Beijing's intimidation.
